#GirlGang: Sien | "Most Hate Comes From a Place of Admiration"

#GirlGang member, Sien is a young talented and passionate Dubai-based dancer. A bold, creative free spirit not afraid to stand out in a crowd. Sien boldly shares her personal experience of Girl-On-Girl Hate that is prominent in the dance community. "Most hate comes from a place of admiration. Dancers are nurtured to be constantly pushing themselves to work harder and be better however it is easy to become discouraged when you see another dancer grow at a more rapid rate."

Personally, I never understood why people would want to bring others down however once I grew up I learned that most hate comes from a place of admiration, also known as jealousy or envy.

Sadly, theres a lot of girl on girl hate in the dance community. Dancers are nurtured to be constantly pushing themselves to work harder and be better however it is easy to become discouraged when you see another dancer grow at a more rapid rate. We all have our moments and periods of growth and we all equally have moments where we feel like we are at a standstill regardless of our efforts.

I hear a lot of girls talk down others simply because they are growing at a faster rate. It took me a long time to realize that jealousy and envy can be turned into admiration and inspiration if you chose to channel positive instead of negative energy. When someone is better than us at something, why bash them when we can study how they do that thing and apply it to ourselves?

I believe that jealousy channeled in the right way to become inspiration can even be the best tool to growth! So my fellow beautiful females, next time you see another girl slay the game, look and admire her… You might just learn something new.

  • Hi!
I like your brand and discovered it through my friend Kim/KADC. I’m also an up and coming youtuber. Would love to know how I can join your girl gang!
